What do you think will be the best thing about heaven??Seeing a loved one? Streets of gold? Comfort (no pain)? Something or someone else?
Even the desire for heaven often reveals our idolatrous hearts.
Ultimately we are desiring Shalom (“the way things were meant to be”) which is what God created in the Garden. The hole that sin created is what we seek to fill everyday with possessions, relationships, religion (pick your filler) and even our view of eternal existence.
Jesus will be our passion, our fulfillment, our joy, our Shalom, not relatives, pets, or streets of gold.
